Object and Relate is the ceramics/object line of Kate Rosenberg who is an Artist and a Psychotherapist. The concept of Object and Relate is connected to the Psychological theory of "Object Relations". The basic idea behind Object Relations theory relies on one's social/emotional health being dependent upon one's first attachment to an object (likely her mother or father). Like one's first primary object, Kate hopes that her consumer questions and explores their attachments to the sculptural and useful objects that she makes.
Kate earned her BA in Studio Art at Oberlin college and her Masters Degree in Art Psychotherapy at Pratt Institute. She was additionally trained in metal smithing at the Jewelry Arts Institute, Film at Tisch, Ceramics at Full-Circle Pottery, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Maple Counseling Center. Kate currently works with clients in private practice and sells her ceramic work in Boutiques and Museum stores.
Kate is available to lead individual and group hand building classes.
